Scout Sunday
February 4, 2024
10am Mass at Annunciation
Wear Cub Scout uniform (except the hat) and arrive at 9:30am to line up by den.

We will sit by scout family with the scout sitting at the seat closest to the aisle.

Scout Sunday is a celebration for all scouts and families in Pack 6 Crestwood and Troop 1 Crestwood. We will hold a Scout Sunday Mass at Annunciation (10am Mass at Annunciation; arrive early to line up).

The scouts will participate as altar servers, readers, offertory, petitions, and more.

 

At the end of Mass, Wolf Scouts will receive the Light of Christ or God and Me religious emblem, and  Junior Webelos scouts will receive the Parvuli Dei religious emblem.

Workbooks Deadline:  Jan 26, 2019
All workbooks and Parvuli Dei banners are due on January 26th.
 
Please complete and sign the application in the back of the workbook.

Catholic Emblems

Light of Christ for scouts in grades 1-2
Usually done as a
Wolf scout in Pack 6.

Steps to

Follow

This section  only applies to Wolf and Webelos Dens.

 

Deadline for Workbook, Application & Banner: 
Submit by Jan 19, 2024

1. Help your scout complete the activities in the workbook. 2-3 weeks for Light of Christ will take a scout 2-3 weeks. Parvuli Dei will take 4-6 weeks to complete. 

 

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR PARVULI DEI: Webelos will make a banner for Requirement #5 (any size is fine, but generally in the range of 16x24).

 

2. Complete the application in back of the workbook. The scout and parent each sign the application.

​

For the top section, enter:

  • “New York” for Diocese

  • “Annunciation-Our Lady of Fatima” for Name of Parish Church (or another if you belong to a different parish),

  • “6” for the Pack number

  • “Church of the Annunciation/Our Lady of Fatima” for Pack Chartered Organization

  • and “Greater Hudson Valley” for the Council.

 

Signatures required from:

  • Cub Scout

  • Parent/Guardian

  • Please leave all other signature lines blank. They will be signed by the additional reviewers.

3. Submit the workbook (AND banner  Webelos) to your Den Leader by the deadline.

4. Plan to attend Scout Sunday. 

 

WHAT THE PACK WILL DO

  • Arrange final reviews/approvals with a Parish priest and our BSA Council

  • Purchase the religious medals from CYO Office.

​

Medals to be awarded at Scout Sunday Mass.

​

Parvuli Dei banners will be displayed during Scout Sunday (will be taped to altar railing).

 

All workbooks and banners will be returned after Scout Sunday.
