MEETING POINT

• Meet at the Crestwood Train Station, Thompson Parking Lot

• Yonkers side of the Crestwood Train Station

• Bronx River Parkway, Exit 8-Vermont Terrace

 

BE PREPARED

• Wear your Scout t-shirt.

• Helmets required for all.

• Bring the Cub Scout “Six Essentials” (First Aid Kit, Trail Food, Water Bottle, Sun Protection, Whistle, and Flashlight) or "Ten Essentials" for Troops.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

• 10am Welcome & brief Safety Review.​​​

•  ​We will start as a group, but will naturally separate based on scouts' fitness abilities and time schedules. 

• NO closing ceremony. Depart as necessary.​

Official 2026 Bike Sunday Schedule

June-July:  8am to 10am

May, Sept, Oct: 10am to 2 pm

• Open to non-motorized bicyclists, scooters and in-line skaters, e-bikes class 1 only, plus walkers and joggers.

• Walkers, joggers and slower wheeled traffic must use the right lane; faster wheeled traffic must use the left lane.

• New York State law requires helmets for children under age 14, including those riding in bike trailers; helmets are strongly recommended for all wheeled participants.

• New York State law prohibits children under age 1 from riding on bicycles or in a separate seat.

• All headsets are prohibited. This includes but is not limited to music devices and hands-free cell phones.

• No skateboarding allowed.

• No dogs allowed.

• Bicyclists must obey the posted parkway speed limit of 40 m.p.h.

• Children riding in strollers must be strapped in at all times.

• Children under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

• In May, September and October, all participants must be off the parkway by 1:50 p.m.

• In June and July, all participants must be off the parkway by 11:50 a.m.

In the event of rain, the program will be canceled.
